    Change my mind!

I used to be skeptical about non-alcoholic red wines. Have tried a few in the past and let’s just say they left me feeling underwhelmed. A lot of them tasted flat, one-dimensional, and kind of like watered-down grape juice?

But then, I gave the Leitz Non-Alcoholic Pinot Noir a shot... and wow was I surprised! What really stood out to me, though, was how balanced it is. It’s got enough body to keep things interesting, but it’s still smooth and approachable. A winner in my books!

First alcohol free red that tastes like a wine

Fruity, light and with soft tannins, it's not bad. A bit too light to go with food in my opinion, but a very easy and enjoyable wine.

    Weak and watery

The Pinot Noir was very disappointing

    We didn’t finish the bottle

It was weak and watery (unlike the Riesling which was sweet but fine)

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Steve—we truly appreciate it, as it helps us and other customers make informed choices. We’re sorry the Leitz Pinot Noir came across as weak and watery for you, and that you didn’t finish the bottle. It’s great to hear you enjoyed the Riesling more, as its natural sweetness often shines through in our alcohol-free selections.

That said, alcohol-free wines like the Leitz Zero Point Five Pinot Noir do tend to feel lighter and less robust than their alcoholic counterparts, since alcohol contributes significantly to body and mouthfeel. This can sometimes give a perception of being “watered down,” but Leitz uses gentle vacuum distillation to preserve the wine’s essence without harsh treatments. The result is a lighter non-alcoholic red with notes of juicy red cherries, blackberries, and subtle earthy undertones, complemented by soft tannins and a velvety finish. We should add that this Pinot Noir is best at a specific temp window of 10-12 degrees and when paired with food.

Alcohol-free reds are indeed the hardest to get right! We are looking to bring in Cabernet Sauvignon this year, and hopefully it will be more suited to your palate. Wishing you a great year ahead🙏
